GARDEN WASTE SERVICE DISRUPTIONS

HINCKLEY & BOSWORTH BOROUGH COUNCIL - PRESS RELEASE -18th August 2021

PEOPLE LIVING IN BURBAGE, HINCKLEY, GROBY AND RATBY MAY NOT RECEIVE GARDEN WASTE (BROWN LIDDED BIN) COLLECTION NEXT WEEK AND ON BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY DUE TO ONGOING HGV DRIVER SHORTAGES.

HOWEVER THE COUNCIL CONTINUES TO WARN THAT IT ONLY HAS SUFFICIENT HGV DRIVERS AVAILABLE TO COMPLETE AROUND 75% OF ROUNDS IN RATBY & GROBY (BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY 30 AUGUST) WHICH WILL RESULT IN SOME COLLECTIONS BEING MISSED.

RESIDENTS ARE URGED TO PRESENT THEIR GARDEN WASTE BINS AS USUAL AND THE AVAILABLE CREWS WILL ENDEAVOUR TO SERVICE AS MANY BINS AS POSSIBLE. ALL OTHER REFUSE AND RECYCLING COLLECTIONS IN THE BOROUGH WILL BE COMPLETED AS USUAL.

RESIDENTS ARE REMINDED THAT THE RECYCLING CENTRES ARE OPEN AND RESIDENTS DO NOT NEED AN APPOINTMENT TO ATTEND.

THE BOROUGH APOLOGISES FOR THE DISRUPTION CAUSED BY ONGOING SHORTAGE OF HGV DRIVERS AND THANKS YOU FOR YOU PATIENCE AT THIS DIFFICULT TIME.
